The Spitzer lab in the Neurobiology Department and Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind at UC San Diego is recruiting postdoctoral fellows to determine the electrical activity necessary and sufficient to promote and modulate transmitter switching. Our research involves genetic labeling to identify transmitter-switching neurons in the mouse brain and non-invasive manipulations of activity in neurons and glia to drive or reverse transmitter switches.
