Sanhang Institute for Brain Science and Technology (SiBST) was launched in September 2023 to fill in this research gap in China. The Chinese word ‘Sanhang’ in the name covers aeronautics, aerospace and marine science all together. The institute aims to combine brain research with these areas, with the short-term mission of sending laboratory rodents into deep space and the eventual ambition of preparing humans for living for long periods in deep space or the deep ocean. We are recruiting high-level and outstanding young talents globally and welcome them to join our university.

  1. Chair Professor

Position Requirements: Lead international scientific frontiers, achieve systematic and innovative accomplishments in basic research, and attain landmark scientific achievements in major national science and technology missions. Typically, candidates should be strategic scientists with high social reputation and broad academic influence.

  1. Leading Talent

Position Requirements: Conduct pioneering and leading research in their discipline, gaining high recognition from peers domestically and internationally. Make significant contributions to social development and scientific progress in line with major national needs. Typically, candidates should be national-level leading talents who have made major contributions in discipline construction, scientific research, talent cultivation, etc.

  1. Young Talent

Position Requirements: Hold a doctoral degree and be under 40 years of age. Have held a formal teaching or research position at a renowned university, research institution, or corporate R&D department domestically or internationally. Generally, candidates should be outstanding young talents who have achieved high academic accomplishments in their field and possess the potential to become leading talents in the field.

Support Benefits:

  1. Appointment: Tenured position, appointed as Professor and Doctoral Supervisor with a senior professional title.
  2. Compensation: Competitive annual salary + relocation allowance and monetary subsidies + performance bonuses + other income such as outstanding contribution rewards, with no upper limit. Additional rewards and support from the school (research institute).
  3. Research Support: Ample start-up research funding. Guaranteed one doctoral student quota annually for the first three years. Full salary coverage for postdoctoral researchers recruited within the first three years.

  1. Appointment: Tenured position; appointed as Tenure-Track Professor (senior professional title) and, through certain procedures, as Doctoral Supervisor.

Position Requirements: Tenure-Track Professor should be under 40 years of age; Tenure-Track Associate Professor should be under 35 years of age. Meet the academic standards for the respective position.

  1. Appointment: Tenured position; Tenure-Track Professor receives a senior professional title, while Tenure-Track Associate Professor receives an associate senior professional title.

  1. Postdoctoral Researcher (Special Funding Postdoc/Regular Postdoc)

Position Requirements: Within 3 years of obtaining a doctoral degree. Special Funding Postdoc should be under 32 years of age and meet the academic level of Assistant Professor. Regular Postdoc should be under 35 years of age.

  2. Career Development: During the term, those who meet the standards for Tenure-Track Associate Professor or higher may apply for a pre-appointment as a tenure-track faculty member. Upon appointment, they will be managed under the corresponding position and receive corresponding benefits.
