New Cancer Therapies and Functional Genomics
The Winter Lab is looking for a highly motivated Research Technician who is excited to work in our international group, learn and execute state-of-the-art functional genomics approaches, and contribute to the innovation of novel therapeutic insights.
We are an international and multi-disciplinary research lab. When you work with us, you will work in a team of molecular biologists, biochemists, and medicinal chemists. Together with other research groups at AITHYRA, we work at the interface of Biomedicine, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. Our mission is to connect that wide umbrella of backgrounds to reimagine cancer treatment strategies. You’d be working with high-throughput technologies such as genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 screens, phenotypic drug screen and proteomics. The setup in our group and in our consortium is interdisciplinary, open, diverse, and inclusive. This fosters an environment that is required for the generation of innovate ideas and novel concepts that are needed to advance novel therapeutic strategies.
Your role
We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic candidates to join our team.
Tasks and responsibilities contain, but are not limited to:
- Cell Culture (maintenance, manipulation via genome engineering)
- Functional genomics including CRISPR/Cas9 screens and protein stability reporter screens
- Recombinant protein work
- General molecular biology techniques (immunoblots, cloning, immunoprecipitations)
- Proteomics sample preparation
- Technology development
- Training of new lab members
- Certain lab management responsibilities
Your Profile
- The successful applicant should have a Master’s degree in life sciences and an excellent background in molecular biology or biochemistry.
- Candidates that have a PhD degree will also be considered.
- Prior experience in a wet-lab setting is an advantage.
- The working language at AITHYRA is English, and excellent written and oral communication skills as well as high accuracy, reliability and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are a requirement.
